Food is life, food is culture, food is money, food is politics and at times, food is sex !! Sweets don’t do for me … chocolate hardcore fans might disagree, I am just a person who feels that a pasta sauce makes love to my tongue. Sensational!

That being said, food can make you get dirty! Just think of an awesome crab dish, or prawns dish, or a pizza. There is this woman in “Eat Pray Love” and she says that she is having a relationship with the Margarita pizza she had in this joint in Naples (Napoli). O Dio!!! I bet they must have pizza in the Vatican, or not, they have not idea who God really is. Anyways, pizza must be eaten with the hands!!!!! No forks, no knives please. The best way to enjoy a pizza is to grab a slice and eat it and have the sauce run down your chin and your hand. No barrier between the holy pizza and yourholyself. There is no polite – I bet polite had originally had something to do with politics (thinking of semantics) – or delicate way to eat a pizza. Or ribs for that matter. I must mention that although I am totally against eating meat, and I will explain my choice in another post later on. I do mention ribs though because it brings back the primary attitudes to food. Not just that there was little other food – tens and tens of thousands years ago, but people back then only focused on (enjoying) food, and not paying attention to the manners we have to learn today. And yes, I have eaten in joints on the side of the road in third world countries, and I have eaten in five stars restaurants.

Food is freedom. There is no higher degree to food freedom than eating the food you want, and getting as dirty as you can. Not having to worry about choosing the right fork and such – that’s no biggie, learning table manners is, as a matter of fact, easier than learning the alphabet. And it doesn’t matter what alphabet!!!!!

I don’t have any new year’s resolutions, I am not against them though. I think that for one, if people really follow them, that’s great. Second, they offer (at least) a chance to reflect on issues that are important to them, and that would hopefully lead to something better!

Speaking of which, a-couple-of-degrees related, I decided to delete all sexist songs on my playlist. There were only two of them, I actually loved the beat and never paid attention to the lyrics. So Pitbull, bye bye. Cold turkey!!

What else, I don’t need too many words to put my point across. Yeah, I don’t eat meat anymore. No turkey. I like Turkey, the country though. But I probably shouldn’t say that, because I’ve never been there. Well I was, but just in the airport. Passed through immigration (!), but only to spend some 30min. But still, I love anchovies like crazy, I loved them for years and years, even before I have tasted them for the first time! I read about anchovies in a book when I was really young and decided I loved anchovies. The taste of them. And yes, I would eat anchovies every single day, but I am afraid I would get bored or not appreciate them as much as those bits of salty wowness deserve.

It’s like the first time, all times. It always creates within me a feeling of awe. I am pretty sure I understand why, it is actually psychological, but it’s great!

Broccoli, lots and lots, boiled and separated into florets

Potato, boiled and cut in cubes

Butter

Bechamel sauce

Yellow cheese

Salt and pepper

Coat a heat resistant dish with butter and add the broccoli plus potato in layers, or mix it together. Add a ton of bechamel sauce, which is cooked as it follows: melt butter, add flour, then milk, and boil it until it thickens. It is good to add some salt, not that much though, and pepper, which I forgot to do. But I have to emphasize how important salt and pepper are, because bechamel doesn’t really have a taste, in my opinion. It is very bland. Don’t add to much salt though because the cheese that comes on top is already salty. Add the bechamel sauce and a lot of grated yellow cheese to the lots of broccoli and little potato mix and put in a hot oven for like 10min. Then take it out, eat it as hot as you can, and enjoy it!

PS If there is a ‘ton’ of bechamel sauce, then how many tons of broccoli and potato? Yeah, that’s me!

I saw a book somewhere – more of an album actually – it had pictures of these amazing, purely amazing tattoos, I remember a full body tribal tattoo. It was exquisite.

**”Hate” is just a matter of saying, I cannot hate anyone or anything.

Nota bene: I have nothing, absolutely nothing against people that get tattoos.

Other than that, I have a new hair color! Yay!
